Constant cutting edge length/diameter ratios
The cutting edge length/diameter ratio cannot be kept constant throughout a continuous function due to its dependency on the diameter. This has an impact on production processes: In the case of tools with a small diameter, the disproportionate increase of the relative cutting edge length leads to a loss of stability. On the other hand, tools with a large diameter become stiffer – in this case, the short cutting edge lengths have a negative influence on performance.
FRAISA has developed a solution for these challenges: Constant cutting edge length/diameter ratios that ensure consistently high performance, increased process reliability and simplified tool selection throughout the entire tool system, irrespective of diameter.
