Polymechanic (Swiss Certificate of Competence)
Polymechanics manufacture tools, components and production equipment. They program and operate machines, monitor the production process, commission plants and equipment and maintain them.
Contents of the apprenticeship
1st YEAR
- Basic education/extended basic education
- Manual production (turning, milling, drilling, measuring, assembly)
- Engraving/surface technology/coating
- External courses 24 days
2nd YEAR
- Further training
- Basic course: Grinding with conventional and CNC tools
- Quality assurance and cylindrical grinding
- Production machinery systems
- Preparation for partial test
- External courses 24 days
3rd. YEAR
- Specialized training
- CNC turning and milling
- Production planning & control
- CAD drawing
- Tool School and testing center
- Maintenance and repair work
- Stage FRAISA GmbH (D)
4th YEAR
- Specialized training
- Production machinery systems (milling and threading) or
- testing and application center or
- quality assurance or
- Maintenance and repair work
- Stage FRAISA USA, Inc. (USA)
Possible further education after the apprenticeship:

Certified production technician (EFA) Certified sales technician (EFA) - Höhere Fachprüfung (HFP) (Swiss higher qualifying exam)
Master tradesman in industry - Höhere Fachschule (HF) (College of higher vocational training)
Technician - Fachhochschule (FH) (University of Applied Sciences)
After Berufsmatur (Swiss vocational school certificate, which allows entry to a University of Applied Sciences) + 1 year working experience: Bachelor
