FRAISA Annual Report 21/22
ANNUAL REPORT 2021 / 2022 I PROJECTS “IT-Strategie 2021-2028“ Our path into the digital future For years, digitalization has expanded steadily in our everyday life. FRAISA too has committed itself to this transformation. From the introduction of SAP ERP in 2013, through the au- tomation of specific machines, to the use of robots — every- where, human and machine are working together more and more. The complexity of the constantly growing IT landscape is one of the biggest challenges for the future. The “IT-Strategie 2021-2028“ guideline illustrates how FRAISA approaches this challenge. IT grows together globally In the past, IT lay mostly within the local responsibility of na- tional subsidiaries. However, the centralization of IT created an overall unity that promotes harmonization of the relevant busi- ness processes. Now IT activities are coordinated and the glob- al IT roadmap is adjusted through regular exchange between centralized IT and the national subsidiaries. An essential element of the “IT-Roadmap 2021-2028“ is the unification of the ERP landscape through rollouts of SAP S/4HANA. Switching directly to SAP S/4HANA offers new pos- sibilities: It simplifies processes, enables more effective data evaluation, and allows better adaptation of user surfaces to fit requirements. Global adjustment and harmonization of processes is FRAISA’s goal on the way to a common database. In the process, we want to benefit from the experience of our national subsidiar- ies, among other things, to enable a better integration of our services (FRAISA ReTool ® , FRAISA ToolCare ® , FRAISA Concep- Tool) as well as of our online store. A further important milestone on the IT roadmap is the in- troduction of a manufacturing execution system (MES) at the production sites. MES systems are specially developed for pro- duction so that process and machine data can be captured and evaluated in real time. A unified IT infrastructure for more efficiency We're launching several initiatives in the area of IT infrastruc- ture too: from further improvements in cybersecurity and a new internal ticket-management system to a shared Microsoft 365 environment. Our goal for the coming years is to further stan- dardize the IT landscape. That will ease collaboration across countries and accelerate rollouts of local digital innovations. [ 19 ]
